Ballater Caravan Park was formerly run by Aberdeenshire Council but in April 2012 it was leased back to the local community who are now the operators. The first year has been one of consolidation with emphasis on general all-round improvement in quality. The park remains very competitively priced but is now even better value for money. Being located in an attractive spot next to the River Dee but within walking distance of the town centre allows both escape from the daily rush and convenient shopping and eating facilities. PLACES TO VISIT: • Ballater is just 9 miles from Royal Balmoral Castle (Open April-July) home of the Royal Family. • There are also 2 fine castles operated by the National Trust for Scotland (NTS), Crathes Castle and Drum Castle, which are within 25 miles • NTS also operate Mar Lodge and Mar Lodge Estate.
