Hastings and St Leonards - adjoining seaside towns in Sussex

Visit Hastings, the town associated with the most famous battle in English history. Hastings is a seaside town that has been a fishing port for most of its history. The town's fishing fleet is thriving and the town's fish market offers fresh fish that have been caught in an environmentally friendly way. Hastings has a large number of museums including Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, Old Town Hall Museum, the Fishermen's Museum and Hastings Shipwreck and Cultural Heritage Centre. The town also features the impressive ruins of Hastings Castle to explore. The castle has become a tourist destination and features information on the castle's history and the people who built and defended it. Hastings also has a great Country Park that covers 660 acres of land with woodland, heathland and 5 miles of stunning coastline. The nature reserve has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its rare plants. There is so much to do in this history rich town.
